Welcome to the Anglican Church of Tanzania, Diocese of Zanzibar. The vision of the diocese is to empower Christians and community members to enjoy the full life of God’s Kingdom. Its mission is to spiritually and materially enhance Christ's healing ministry through proclamation, collaboration and holistic social development to the needy. Both the mission and vision of the diocese are fulfilled through the roles of various departments which include; Finance and Administration, Evangelism, HIV/AIDS, Education, Mothers Union (UMAKI), Youth, Heifer project, St Monica’s Hostel and the Former Slave Market Site/Cultural heritage center. The Bishop of the Diocese of Zanzibar is Michael Hafidh, who was born in Zanzibar on the 20th of July 1960. He was educated at St. Marks’ theological college Dar es Salaam, where he studied theology.
