THE FRIENDS OF DR. DAVID LIVINGSTONE

The friends of Dr. David Livingstone of Tanzania will mark the 141 year of the abolition of slavery with a half day symposium which will be held on June 6th 2014 at Bwawani Restaurant, Zanzibar. The topic of discussion will be ‘The Abolition of Slave Trade in Zanzibar inspired by Dr. David Livingstone’. The end of slave trade in East and Central Africa came after long and difficult initiatives of Dr. David Livingstone. The aim of the symposium, is to present and discuss the life and works of David Livingstone as a man and an icon and to examine his life and work in the context of abolition of slave trade and bring Christianity to Africa. The symposium will bring together Bishops, professors, experts, businessmen and clergies across the world.
