The Christ Church Cathedral is on the UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000, reflecting our responsibility to maintain this important sanctuary for future generations. The Cathedral also continues to have a significant impact on local, social and economic well-being – bringing over thousands of visitors to the area each year. More than 50 staff and volunteers support the work of the Cathedral.

The Cathedral is able to meet these daily costs largely through visitor donations, but the reality is that in order to carry out necessary larger-scale works, we are totally reliant on the generosity of our donors and partners. It must be noted that, we receive no direct funding from the Government or the Church of England.

Without your help we simply would not be able to progress the major programme of works needed to ensure Christ church cathedral’s future. If you wish to help us in any shape or form please email us at or
